Location and dedicated own door space are a hit in Scotstown

Providing dedicated own door office space with guaranteed connectivity while looking out onto the natural landscape and all against the backdrop of the nearby stream, have helped to make the individual pods at the Waterside Hub, Scotstown, north Monaghan, very popular.

“The demand for this service is very strong.  I put it down to several factors including location and affordability,” explained Gareth Sherry, manager/owner of the hub and adjacent Scotstown Business Park.

The pods have their own address and secure easy access.  They are bright, warm, and come with a desk, chair and shelving and any availability is quickly snapped up.

“Being able to offer a company, entrepreneur or more established business owner their dedicated own door office space, address and without them having to enter into a fixed contract, has been part of attraction,” he explained.

“It is affordable, and our location is good. Specifically, most of the people that are coming here are in the parish catchment.  The feedback I get is that they like not having to travel further such as into Monaghan town.”

The other attraction is there is flexibility without any catch; “there is no need for them to enter into a fixed contract for the office, they are not tied down to a particular time frame or financial commitment and the fee also includes all of their utilities.”

While some of the interest has been as a result of Brexit and some companies based in Northern Ireland also wanting to have a dedicated presence in the EU for their staff, the pods have also proven very popular with entrepreneurs, consultants in specialist areas and remote workers who prefer to not always work from home.

A short walk from the centre of the village, the pods will have access to a fully equipped canteen during 2024.
